Family Fun Day

Don't forget Family Fun Day at Patterson next Tuesday from 4 to 6. There will be hot dogs, face painting, bounce houses, and more. Tell your friends.

Movietime Storytime at Mahon

Next wednesday before school starts, we will show Tangled at Mahon starting at 10:30 at Mahon instead of regular storytime. There will be a regular storytime on Tuesday.

Also we are having a Cinema Celebration at Mahon on Thursday, August 18. We are going to see Gnomeo & Juliet, Rio, and Diary of a wimpy kid: Rodrick Rules. RSVP to this blog by Tuesday afternoon to reserve your spot. There will be refreshments & pizza.

Happy Birthday Storytime

There will be special storytimes at Groves next week (8/17 & 8/18). Celebrate everyone's birthday with snacks & crafts. Dress up as a prince, princesses or come in your pajamas! Starts at 10:30 a.m.

Summer Celebration

Good job to all of our summer reading finishers. Don't forget our end of summer reading party that will be head at Mahon on Tuesday (August 2) starting at 10:30. There will be a princess storytime in the community room with special guest Belle. Light refreshments will be served. Girls be sure to dress up in your fancy princess dress and boys dress up like the beast or a prince if you like. Outdoors will be a barrel train, bouncers, and more. We will have a prize drawing after 11:30 for all sorts of fun prizes (completed logs will be our prize entries). Belle is going to help draw for the prizes. Hope everyone can make it out.

Dogs in Action

Here are a few pictures from yesterday's Dogs in Action program at Mahon. The program today at Godeke will be indoors and space is very limited. You will need tickets for today's show only. No tickets needed at Patterson or Groves because they will be outdoors. Be sure to bring a chair or blanket.

Magic Shows

Come see Dr. H all next week (7/11-7/14). We will have 2 shows at each location. Pick up tickets for the 1 & 2 p.m. shows when each library opens. Mahon is on Monday, Godeke is on Tuesday, Patterson is on Wednesday & Groves on Thursday.

Happy Fourth of July

All library locations will be closed on Monday, July 4 for the holiday. Mahon will be open Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

South Plains Wildlife Animals

Hope everyone has a Happy Fourth of July. Be sure to come out to Lubbock Public Library next week to meet some of the animal ambassadors from the South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Be sure to pick up tickets for the events the day of the program when the doors open.

Stories: Can You Dig 'Em? with Eric Strong

The amazing storyteller, Eric Strong, is going to be at each of the four library locations this week. He will be at Mahon today, Godeke on Tuesday, Patterson on Wednesday, & Groves on Thursday at 2 p.m. Be sure to pick up tickets for this event.

Motivation in Motion

Juggler, Steve Winger, will be at Lubbock Public Library on Wednesday, June 22 and Thursday, June 23. He will be juggling all sorts of items on the 22nd at Mahon at 10:30 a.m. & Patterson at 2 p.m. On the 23rd he will be at Groves at 1o:30 a.m. and at Godeke at 2 p.m.

Be sure to pick up tickets the day of the program starting at 9 a.m. Seating will be limited to room capacity.

There will be no storytime at Mahon on the 22nd or at Groves on the 23rd due to the summer reading programs.

Music with Andy Mason

Andy will be back again this year to sing fun children's songs. On Monday, June 13 he will be at Mahon at 11 a.m. & Patterson at 2 p.m. On Tuesday, June 14 he will be at Groves at 11 a.m. & Godeke at 2 p.m. You will not need tickets at Mahon because we are going to meet in the children's area. The library will not be open for the Groves program but we will open the lobby 10 minutes before the program.

Dig Up Some Fun

Help us celebrate 75 years of discovery with Lubbock Lake Landmark. There will be a variety of stations to explore the past and even some crafts too. Monday's program starts at 2 p.m. at Godeke Branch and will be held indoors. The other three programs start at 10:30 a.m and will be outdoors. There will be a mini gardening craft and bubbles at the outdoor programs. The Parenting Cottage will also be on hand to show us a fun activity. No need for tickets.

Construction Junction

Come help us kick of our summer reading program. Mahon Library will host Construction Junction on Tuesday, May 31st. Safety City will be out with bicycles to ride. The City of Lubbock will have a variety of equipment on display. Be sure to bring your camera with you.
